Racing Jacket for Women: 5 Ways to Wear It

Racing Jacket for Women: 5 Ways to Wear It

The vintage racing jacket is no longer a men's piece. Worn oversized, with its embroidered patches and bold colour blocks, it has become one of the easiest ways to add character to a simple outfit. Here are five looks that work, and how to get the fit right.

1. Oversized with straight jeans

The classic. A fitted white top, straight or mom jeans and white sneakers. Wear the jacket open and slightly too big: the contrast between the roomy jacket and the fitted top is what makes the look.

2. Over a slip dress

A satin or jersey midi dress, ankle boots or chunky sneakers, and the racing jacket on top. The sporty jacket breaks the elegance of the dress: perfect for an evening out in autumn.

3. Sporty with leggings or cycling shorts

Black leggings or cycling shorts, a cropped tee or sports bra and retro trainers. Choose a lively design, such as our paddock-style jacket covered in patches, to make the most of this streetwear look.

4. With a pleated or denim skirt

A short pleated skirt or a denim mini, knee socks and loafers or chunky boots. The 90s-inspired racing jacket fits naturally with this preppy look.

5. All black

Black jeans, black knit, black boots and a black racing jacket, such as our black paddock-style jacket. A sober look in which the embroidery does all the work.

Which size should women take?

Our jackets are unisex and run small. For the oversized look, take one size above your usual size; if you prefer a closer fit, keep your usual size. Our height chart works for everyone: up to 167 cm, M; 168 to 175 cm, L. All details are in our size guide.

Which colours to choose?

  • Red or white: the most striking, ideal with neutral basics.
  • Black or navy: the easiest to wear every day.
  • Multicolour patches: the boldest, to wear with a simple outfit.
