How to Style a Racing Jacket in 2026
Share
The racing jacket has left the paddock for the street. With its embroidered patches, bold colour blocks and stand collar, it is a statement piece: the trick is to build the rest of the outfit around it, not against it.
The golden rule: one loud piece
A racing jacket already carries a lot of colour and detail. Keep everything else simple: plain tees, neutral trousers, clean sneakers. If the jacket is red, white or covered in patches, let it be the only busy item you wear.
Look 1: everyday casual
- Plain white or grey t-shirt
- Straight or relaxed-fit blue jeans
- White leather sneakers
The easiest look, and the one that works with every colour in our racing jacket range. Leave the jacket open for a relaxed feel.
Look 2: 90s streetwear
- Oversized hoodie or heavyweight tee
- Wide-leg cargo trousers or baggy jeans
- Chunky retro sneakers and a cap
Over a hoodie, the size up is a must: a roomy jacket over a hoodie gives the boxy silhouette that defines the look. Our stock-car style jackets are a natural fit here.
Look 3: smart casual
- Fine-knit black or navy jumper
- Dark tapered chinos
- Leather boots or minimal sneakers
Pick a sober colour, such as black or navy, and wear the jacket closed. It works well for an evening out or a day at the track.
For women
The racer jacket became one of the most worn pieces on women's runways and social media. Two easy combinations: an oversized jacket over a fitted top with straight jeans, or worn open over a slip dress with boots for contrast. Our jackets are unisex and run small: the height chart in our size guide works for women too.
Getting the fit right
Our jackets run small: take one size above your usual size, especially if you wear a sweater underneath. Find your size by height in our size guide before ordering.
